Stephen Brown

Stephen Brown is the Director of Positive Women. Stephen began working in International Development in 2004 as National Secretary of the National Union of Students UK. Since leaving NUS, Stephen has worked for both Global Ethics and the international water and sanitation charity, Pump Aid as Head of Campaigns and Communications. Most recently, Stephen was the Campaign Director for Diane Abbott’s bid to become leader of the Labour Party and a TV Mentor for the Channel 4 Show, Battlefront.

Barney Samson

Barney Samson is Project Manager at Positive Women. Barney’s engagement with the charity sector began as a musician, working for ARK (AbsoluteReturn for Kids) as an Artist in Residence in several schools. He has worked with the Global Poverty Project, both as an Event Co-ordinator for the 2010 tour of the 1.4 Billion Reasons presentation and as a Project Officer and Events Manager on the Live Below the Line campaign in 2011. This campaign raised over £150,000 for international development charities. Before joining Positive Women, Barney also worked in the social business sector as Events Co-ordinator for Pants to Poverty.
